I Scream – You Scream–We All Scream for Ice Cream!
National Ice Cream Day is observed each year on the 3rd Sunday in July and is a part of National Ice Cream Month. Here is the easiest recipe ever for making delicious homemade vanilla ice cream…and you don’t even need an ice cream freezer! Plus — I’m sharing a recipe for the best “Magic Shell” chocolate sauce to top that vanilla ice cream you just made.

Easy-Peasy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream+ Homemade “Magic Shell”
Ingredients
2 cups heavy cream
2 cups whole milk
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together all the ingredients until the sugar is dissolved and pour into a 1- gallon zip lock freezer bag and seal.
- Flatten out bag and place in the freezer for at least 2 hours or up to 3 days.
- When the mixture is frozen, remove from freezer and crumble into frozen ice cream pieces, place in a food processor and mix until creamy and eat like “soft –serve”…YUM!!
Homemade Magic Shell
Ingredients
Makes about 1 cup
1 cup coconut oil
3 cups good quality chocolate chips or chocolate bars, broken into pieces
½ teaspoon vanilla
Sea salt, tiny dash
Instructions
NOTE: You can make as little or as much as you want. Simply use 1- part coconut oil to three parts chocolate.
- Melt the coconut oil over very low heat. Slowly stir in the chocolate until completely melted and blended.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla a dash of sea salt.
